The W.H.A.L.E. has brought Sci-Fi, Cutter, Wet-Suit and Hawk to the Persian Gulf to clear it of floating mines and allow the oil tanker Pegasus clear passage. Sci-Fi proves adept at shooting them out but when they investigate one they suddenly see more appearing, then suddenly a Rattler appears in the sky, dropping mines, followed by another. Unable to call aircraft into Iranian airspace the W.H.A.L.E. fires on the low flying planes who return fire. In the battle Hawk is wounded and one Rattler destroyed, but the W.H.A.L.E. is hit and starts sinking, drifting into the minefield.
