Zenn-La was a fabulous world where people had conquered the drudgery of everyday work and could now devote themselves to the pure pursuit of knowledge. All that changed when Galactus, the devourer of worlds, chose Zenn-La as his next victim. To save his world from sure destruction, Norrin Radd volunteered to serve Galactus as a herald—seeking out uninhabited worlds for him to consume. Galactus agreed, and covered Radd with “cosmic glaze,” transforming him into the Silver Surfer.
Before the start of this series, the Surfer had turned on Galactus, and Galactus had accordingly exiled him to Earth—erecting a barrier that forbade his departure. However, with the help of Fantastic Four, the Surfer managed to break away, and is now free to roam the stars once more. This third Silver Surfer volume is considerably more action-oriented than previous series, pitting the Surfer against Thanos and other cosmic menaces.
